Help & support

Answers to common questions, quick how-tos, and a direct line to a real person when you need one.

Contact us

Echo is a one-person company. Email support@askecho.app and a person will reply — usually within one to two business days. Telling us your device model and iOS version helps us help you faster.

Getting started

  1. Save your first thing

Open Echo and tap the + button, or share a link, post or screenshot into Echo from any other app using the Share Sheet. Echo accepts links, articles, videos, podcasts, images, documents and plain notes.
  2. Let it process

Echo reads what you saved and adds a summary, key points and tags automatically. Most saves are ready in a few moments; anything that needs a closer look waits in your Inbox.
  3. Find it again

Type in your Library to filter by keyword, or describe what you remember in plain language and send it to Ask (Pro and Max). Open any save to read its summary or chat with it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Echo free?

Echo has a Free plan: 10 saves a month, with AI summaries and tags, keyword search, chat with any save, and the weekly digest. Pro gives you 250 saves a month, Ask AI, and web search in chat. Max is the same as Pro with 1,500 saves a month. Pro and Max start with a 7-day free trial if you haven’t had one before. Prices are shown in the app, in your local currency, before anything is charged.

What happens when I reach my monthly saves?

Saving pauses until your allowance resets, or until you move to a higher plan. Nothing in your library is deleted or hidden, and search and chat keep working. Your reset date is in Profile → Subscription.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Echo, and change your plan or turn off auto-renew there. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then move to the Free plan with your library intact. Refunds are handled by Apple. See the Terms of Use for full subscription details.

Do I need an account?

No — you can start saving straight away. Creating an account (with Apple, Google or email) lets you sign in on another device and keeps your library safe if you delete the app. A library that was never linked to an account is deleted after 30 days without use.

Which platforms can I save from?

Anything with a link, plus deeper extraction for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Reddit, LinkedIn, Substack, Facebook, Pinterest and podcasts. You can also save screenshots, images, plain notes and documents such as PDFs.

How does the AI work, and is my data private?

Echo sends the content you save to Anthropic’s Claude to summarise it, tag it and make it searchable, and a short summary of each save to OpenAI so Ask can find it. Your library is never used to train AI models and is never sold. Read the full detail in the Privacy Policy.

Can I export my library?

Yes. Go to Profile → Data & Account → Export my data, and Echo emails you a CSV file of your library. You need an account with an email address for this. We recommend exporting before you delete your account.

Is there an Android or web version?

Not at the moment — Echo is for iPhone.

A save didn’t process correctly — what do I do?

Some pages block automated reading, or a link may have expired. Saves that fail appear in your Inbox with a Retry button. If it still doesn’t work, email support@askecho.app with the link and we’ll take a look.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Echo account and everything in your library at any time, directly in the app.

  1. Open your Profile

Launch Echo and open your Profile.
  2. Go to Data & Account

Tap Data & Account, then choose Delete account. (Because Echo is AI-native, deleting your account is also how you stop all AI processing.)
  3. Confirm

Confirm when prompted. Your account and library are then permanently deleted. This cannot be undone — so export your library first if you want to keep a copy.

What gets deleted

  • your account and profile, including your email and sign-in details;
  • your entire library — every saved item, along with its summaries, tags, transcripts, notes and thumbnails;
  • your collections, your Ask and chat history, and your settings.

This data is removed from our live systems promptly and from routine backups within 30 days. Content that was processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, is deleted from their API logs within approximately 30 days. We may retain a minimal set of records — such as transaction and tax records — only where the law requires, and never your library content.

Important

Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your Echo account does not automatically cancel your subscription, because billing is handled by Apple, not by Echo. To stop being charged, also cancel the subscription in your Apple ID: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Echo → Cancel.

Removing the app isn’t the same as deleting your account. Deleting the Echo app from your iPhone removes it from that device, but your account and library still exist on our servers. To delete your data, use the in-app steps above before removing the app.

If you can’t access the app — for example you’ve lost your device — email support@askecho.app and we’ll help you delete your account and data.
